Patras Carnival

The Carnival of Patras is a challenge for various activities by their nature that can reverse moods and stereotypes. Outstanding ability to convert grimace to smile, inspiration to creation, artistic concern in original and imaginative events, fair play, cheerfulness, unselfishness, and spontaneous voluntary activity grafted all ages in the magical experience of participation.

The Patras Carnival, also known as the “Patrino Karnavali” in Greek, is one of the most famous and vibrant carnival celebrations in Greece. It takes place in the city of Patras, located on the northern coast of the Peloponnese peninsula. The Patras Carnival is an annual event that usually occurs in the weeks leading up to the Christian holiday of Lent, with the main festivities culminating in a grand parade and street parties.
