The Protected Area by the Designation cultivates pears from 16th Century, so the cultivation has its own characteristics. Even a special microclimate of the area gives to the fruits a special character.

Pears from Rincón de Soto are better in quality than others – the color of the skin is an intense green and the russeting (caused by the fog) is characteristic.

These pears are cultivated in: Albelda de Iregua, Alberite, Alcanadre, Rincón de Soto, Aldeanueva de Ebro, Alfaro, Agoncillo, Arrubal, Ausejo, Calahorra, Cenicero, Entrena, Fuenmayor, Hormilla, Hormilleja, Huércanos, Lardero, Logroño, Murillo de Río Leza, Nájera, nalda, Navarrete, Pradejón, San Asensio, Torremontalbo, Uruñuela y Villamediana de Iregua.
