Which one is on your bucket list?

Estonians may be known for their stoic nature, but they know how to put on a show. In 2024, everyone flocked to Tartu for its stint as Europe’s Capital of Culture.

In 2025, tens of thousands of people will gather in Tallinn for the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration. (Tickets go on sale in January, and they sell fast!) This event will bring the crowds, but there are plenty more happenings to look forward to.

Get out your calendar and start planning. Visit Estonia in 2025. It’s about time!

February 15th-16th

The Tartu Ski Marathon, held since 1960, is one of the oldest and largest ski marathons in the world. Known as the “Song Festival of Winter,” it attracts thousands of participants and offers an exciting winter sports experience for spectators and participants alike.

March 8th-9th

Simple Session celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2024. This world-famous BMX and skateboarding festival features a four-day program packed with competitions, concerts, workshops, and pop-up events.

April 3rd-6th

Tallinn Music Week (TMW), founded in 2009, includes a music festival, industry conference, and city-wide celebrations, offering attendees the chance to discover new music and listen to familiar favorites.

April 19th-27th

Jazzkaar is the largest jazz festival in the Baltics, with over 3000 artists from 60 countries. Tallinn’s Telliskivi district is the festival’s home, but there are always new formats and performance places, from concert halls to the city streets. 

July 3rd-6th

XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration is part of UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. It brings together 10,000 dancers, 30,000 singers, and thousands of audience members. There is no more significant celebration of Estonian culture, language, and tradition.

July 17th-20th   

The FIA WRC Delfi Rally Estonia returns to Tartu with technical rally stages and an exciting opening ceremony. The route includes scenic gravel roads around the Lake Peipsi region, offering thrilling experiences for all.

The European Disc Golf Festival 2025 is a Major status event; the only other one in Europe is the PDGA Pro Worlds in Finland two weeks later. This prestigious competition draws top international players and disc golf fans.

July 22th-27th 

Held at Kuressaare Episcopal Castle, the Saaremaa Opera Festival offers world-class performances in a stunning historic venue, attracting opera fans from all over.

July 24th-27th 

Set in the ruins of Viljandi Castle, the Viljandi Folk Music Festival celebrates Estonian folk music and traditions, giving the audience a deeper connection to the country’s musical heritage.

September  12th-14th  

The Tallinn Marathon features a scenic route through the UNESCO-listed Old Town. In 2024, a record number of 79 countries were represented at the event.
