Savor the spirit of Polish vineyards

Wine needs not only sunshine but good soil, gentle slopes, breezes to dry the dew off the leaves — and devoted vintners. This is Polish winemaking: unexpected, diverse, and cherished. Each region offers its own character, stories, and flavors — inviting travelers to discover a new side of Europe. Come, be part of the growth of Polish wine tourism!

Lubuskie – where grapevines have grown for centuries

Poland’s largest wine region is near Zielona Góra in the Lubuskie region. Grapes have been cultivated here since the Middle Ages thanks to ideal conditions: limestone soil, gentle slopes, proximity to the Oder River, and the right microclimate. Visit the Miłosz Vineyard, one of the oldest in modern history, Ingrid Vineyard, or Pod Lubuskim Słońcem (Under the Lubuskie Sun). Tastings often take place in gardens, the hosts eagerly sharing stories about how it all began.

Małopolska – along picturesque landscapes and unique flavours

Southern Poland isn’t only the Tatra Mountains and Kraków, it’s also the hilly foothills where loess and clay soil, moderate humidity and long, warm summers favor the cultivation of varieties such as solaris, johanniter, hibernal, and rondo. The Tarnów region is currently one of the most dynamically developing wine districts. The ENOtarnowskie network here connects several dozen small boutique vineyards. Worth visiting are Zadora Vineyard, Nowizny, or Uroczysko  —  where the owner often pours the wine and leads the tasting. Add picturesque landscapes, local cheeses, and wooden Eastern Orthodox churches to your tour of the area as you savor its wine.

Sandomierz – among the loess gorges

Sandomierz is one of the oldest cities in Poland, and it is interesting for its history and location on the Vistula River and surrounding gorges. The loess slopes by the river, the warm days, cool nights, and breezy hillsides create unique conditions for viticulture. The Sandomierz Wine Trail groups together a dozen local vineyards. Nad Jarem Vineyard  —  known for hand-picking its excellent selection of grapes — and Sandomierz Vineyard offer not only wonderful wines but also beautiful views.

Zachodniopomorskie – a northern surprise in the glass

The cooler areas of Zachodniopomorskie might seem unsuitable for growing grapes, yet it’s here in Baniewice, near Szczecin, where you can visit one of the most highly regarded vineyards in Poland. Turnau Vineyard, combining family traditions with a modern approach, produces wines that regularly gain international recognition. This achievement is helped by mineral soil, the right winds on the slopes, and carefully chosen varieties including solaris, riesling, and pinot noir. One of the vineyard’s co-owners is Grzegorz Turnau, a well-known Polish musician and lyricist. His presence gives this winery an extra dimension, as sometimes premieres of new wines and various other events are combined with intimate concerts to create an unforgettable atmosphere. The vineyard also offers tours, tastings and accommodation — an ideal place for those who want to combine tasting Polish wine with a unique cultural experience.
