Europe's natural playground

As diverse as it gets

Slovenia lies at the meeting point of four major European landscapes and, as such, boasts extraordinary diversity within a relatively small area, not only in terms of nature but also in terms of culture and gastronomy. As such, it represents a perfect destination for families on the move, 365 days a year.

As diverse as it gets.

Short distances and diverse adventures

What families will especially appreciate is the diversity present even over short distances. You’ll be surprised at how fast the landscape changes. In only a week, you can experience so many things, from water adventures — whether at Slovenian spas, at the seaside, rivers, or lakes — and adventure parks, hiking, horse-riding, farm holidays, and urban and or even subterranean exploration. A variety of adventures awaits you year-round, but if you’re visiting in winter, the whole family can hop on skis at one of the numerous family-friendly winter resorts, such as Kranjska Gora, Rogla, Krvavec, Cerkno, or Vogel. Combine this with a couple of days at some of  Slovenia’s spas, and your children will be thrilled.

Did you know that the largest visitable cave in Europe is in Slovenia? We’re talking about Postojna Cave Park, where your children will enjoy a one-of-a-kind unground train ride while touring the 24-kilometer-long cave system. While there, you might as well pay a visit to Predjama Castle, the world’s largest cave castle and where the fairytale world of knights comes to life. If you’re in Slovenia in springtime,  the kids will enjoy white-water rafting on the Soča River, with its mesmerizing emerald green color. We haven’t mentioned the hiking and biking you can do in ever-changing landscapes!
