To enjoy your inspiring trip to the capital of Slovakia to the fullest, come during Bratislava Cultural Summer. Every year from mid-June until the end of September, this city’s biggest multi-genre festival fills the streets with concerts, guided walks, and a variety of events. Watch the royal past come to life during Coronation Days. Experience a magical evening of Shakespeare’s brilliance at Bratislava Castle, and fall in love with classical music with a modern touch at the Viva Musica!
Can you imagine a summer without the music festival and the feel-good vibes from the diverse and stellar line-up? Neither can we! Save the date for the Festival of Music and Arts Pohoda, taking place at Trenčín Airport. Over the years, big names such as Lou Reed, Prodigy, Björk, and Nick Cave have made it to the stage here. There is truly something for everyone among the film screenings, theatre performances, workshops, and debates. Get ready for three fabulous days of musical mastery and engaging art, all in a family-friendly atmosphere that welcomes up to 30,000 visitors every year!
Take the opportunity to explore Trenčín, to be the European Capital of Culture 2026, in advance. Tour its ancient castle perched on a formidable cliff while listening to its chilling stories, and take a closer look at the remarkable synagogue. How about a special trip to visit UNESCO sites? In 2022, the tradition of Lipizzaner horse breeding in Slovakia and 7 other countries made it to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Visit the National Stud Farm in the nearby town of Topoľčianky and learn more about these noble creatures – you can even enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride. This elegant experience is a great fit for any occasion from a romantic evening to a special family trip.
Feel the way life used to be! Take part in the Festival of European Folk Craft in Kežmarok. During the festival, about 150 artisans from Slovakia and surrounding countries will gather in this historic pearl below the High Tatras to present their skills with wood, glass, leather, gold and other traditional craft materials. Come here to learn how to weave linen, make wooden toys, shape ceramic cups, or carve stone, and take home an extraordinary souvenir! Then lose yourself in Central Europe’s biggest hedge maze, brand new and near Stará Ľubovňa. You will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Ľubovňa Castle from the observation tower.
