Experience a real Christmas fairy tale!
Let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of Czech Christmas at Advent markets which light up the centers of cities and towns all over the country from the end of November to the new year. Buy original handmade gifts made by the hands of skillful artisans, enjoy numerous concerts or simply relish the magical Christmas mood with a cup of punch, mulled wine, or hot mead. There’s so much to enjoy!
Make a wish under the largest illuminated Christmas tree in Czechia!
The Capital without Christmas markets would be like Christmas without carols. The markets take place in several locations in Prague. The most magical Christmas markets are held at Republic Square, St. Wenceslas Square, Peace Square, and Prague Castle. If you want to see the largest Czech Christmas market, go to the Old Town Square. Not only is this market number one in terms of size, but even the Christmas tree in the middle of the square is also the largest in Czechia! You have the opportunity to admire it until January 6th.

Experience Mozart’s Christmas
You can get in the holiday mood in Moravia as well. The Christmas market in Brno, where even Mozart spent Christmas once, is popular! The Advent in gorgeous Olomouc is like a Christmas wonderland. The local square with the column of the plague inscribed by UNESCO is wonderful in itself, but at Christmas, its beauty is just inexpressible. It will be even more charming after a few sips (or cups) of punch – no other Czech Christmas market offers such a wide variety of this delicious drink. How about going ice skating at an open-air ice rink? That shouldn’t be a problem in Ostrava at Christmas! What’s more, you can admire the Christmas-decorated square from a Ferris wheel!

Dream of a white Christmas
Let’s go back to Bohemia. You can also enjoy the aroma of mulled wine, mead, and gingerbread cookies (and, naturally, the beer) in Plzeň. Take the Christmas tram to the square where the Plzeň market and a wonderful program take place! Carols in the open air, a procession of angels, and, above all, incredible romance can be experienced in one of the most picturesque towns in Czechia – the Advent in Český Krumlov is an unforgettable experience, you’ll feel as if you’re in a fairy tale. Where can you enjoy a truly white Christmas for sure? In Liberec, a North Bohemian town in the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. However, even if there’s no snow, the Liberec Christmas Market will not disappoint you with its enchanting atmosphere and diverse program!
