A small country with a big choice of attractions

Have you ever explored the oldest Republic in the world? Plan a visit to this fascinating country and discover its must-do experiences. San Marino proudly hosts many attractions, ranging from curious collections to captivating cultural sites.

Notable among them is the Museum of Ancient Weapons, housed in the iconic Second Tower. After extensive renovation, it reopened to visitors again on 3 September 2023, the anniversary day of the Republic’s founding. The museum displays some of the rich armor collection acquired by the state between 1956 and 1972. The exhibition route shows the development of sidearms and firearms, with exhibits of great historical value ranging from armor, bills and halberds, wheel-lock, flintlock and fuse firearms to the experimental weapons of the 1800s transition and the breech-loading arms of the late 19th century.
