The Xinzo de Limia Carnival is one of the longest and most traditional carnivals in Spain, declared of International Tourist Interest. Held in Galicia, it is renowned for its unique structure based on five consecutive Sundays, each marked by distinctive rituals and celebrations that gradually build up to the main carnival days.

A highlight is the presence of the “pantallas”, iconic masked characters dressed in traditional costume who roam the streets, creating a lively atmosphere and encouraging everyone to join in. The program also includes colorful parades, music, local food events, and traditions that reflect the region's deep cultural roots.

Visitors can enrich their experience by exploring nearby attractions such as the As Burgas thermal baths in Ourense, ideal for relaxation, discovering the Ribeira Sacra with its spectacular river canyons and vineyards, or enjoying Galicia’s renowned cuisine, famous for its seafood and local wines.

Xinzo de Limia offers an authentic, extended, and immersive carnival experience unlike any other.
