In October, Sagres in the Algarve region hosts the largest birdwatching event in Portugal. Known for its rich biodiversity and striking landscapes, this coastal area serves as a key migration point as birds fly toward Africa.
The program features more than 160 activities that you can enjoy on your own or with family and friends. Options include field trips, boat tours, short courses, environmental workshops, bird-ringing and monitoring sessions, guided walks, historical tours, and experiences with donkeys, horses, or dolphins.
Some activities are free, while others are offered at special festival rates. Over the four days, participants can also take advantage of discounts from local partners, including accommodations, restaurants and shops.
