A world renowned, multi genre festival, the Prague Spring International Music Festival is the largest classical music event in the Czech Republic.

For more than 70 years, it has been one of the country’s leading cultural highlights, bringing together top musicians, symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles from around the world. The festival has endured decades of political and cultural change, thanks in large part to audiences who continue to value its artistic excellence.

Its origins date back to the celebrations marking the end of World War II. Since then, it has welcomed both rising talents and world class performers. Leonard Bernstein made his international debut here in 1946 and 1947, and many renowned artists have followed.

Today, concerts and performances take place across Prague, set against historic venues including churches, monasteries and museums. The main programme is centred around the Rudolfinum on the banks of the Vltava River and the Municipal House, a standout example of Art Nouveau architecture.
