Every August, Santa Maria da Feira transforms into a medieval town, where knights in heavy armor wield swords and take part in jousting tournaments.
Over 12 days, the historic center becomes a large medieval fair, filled with merchants, artisans, blacksmiths, bakers, mule drivers and liqueur sellers, recreating the atmosphere of the past.
Inside the castle, visitors can observe scenes from everyday medieval life, while outside, they can join the lively festivities and sample traditional dishes inspired by the period. In the streets, acrobats, musicians, jugglers and fire eaters perform throughout the day, bringing history to life and transporting visitors back in time.
