In Madeira, spring bursts into colour with the Flower Festival, taking place from 29 April to 30 May 2027.
Celebrating the flowers that flourish in the island’s subtropical climate, Funchal fills with floral displays, music and festivities.
On 1 May, children gather in Praça do Município to place flowers on the Wall of Hope, creating a colourful symbol of peace. In 2027, two Flower Parades, on 2 and 16 May, bring flower-decorated floats, elaborate costumes and lively choreography to the city’s streets.
Throughout the festival, floral carpets and installations brighten public spaces, while the Flower and Regional Products Market invites visitors to discover local flavours. Concerts, flower-inspired fashion and a classic car parade add to the celebrations.
