The Làctium Cheese Festival celebrates artisan cheese, wine, and dairy culture in the historic town of Vic. Set in the Plaça de la Catedral, surrounded by medieval and Baroque architecture, the festival transforms the city center into a lively marketplace dedicated to cheese and local gastronomy.

Market Area
Local craft cheesemakers and winemakers from across Catalonia present their products directly to the public. Visitors can explore stalls, attend tastings, enjoy live music, and learn more about dairy traditions through exhibitions and demonstrations, all within Vic’s old town.

Professional Area
Làctium brings together professionals from across the dairy and food sector, including farmers, producers, chefs, sommeliers, and distributors. A highlight of the festival is the artisan cheese competition, where more than 150 cheeses compete across multiple categories, from fresh to blue cheeses, for gold, silver, and bronze awards.

Gastronomic Area
Visitors are invited to take part in guided cheese and wine tastings led by experts, who share advice on flavor pairing and food combinations. The tasting area features all participating cheeses alongside bread, fruits, vegetables, and wines, highlighting quality products made using sustainable methods.

Family Area
The festival also includes activities for children and families, such as interactive games and a playful goat-herding activity inspired by traditional rural skills.

With tastings, masterclasses, competitions, and exhibitions all centered around the Plaça de la Catedral, the Làctium Cheese Festival offers a welcoming and educational experience celebrating Catalonia’s rich cheese-making heritage.
