Celebrate the beauty of spring in Cyprus at the Almond Tree Blossom Festivals, held each February in the villages of Limnatis, Giolou, and Salamiou. As almond trees burst into bloom, these charming countryside communities welcome visitors with traditional music, folk dancing, local flavors, and hands-on cultural demonstrations.

Each village offers its own unique setting. Limnatis, in the Lemesos region, is known for its almond groves and local grape-based specialties, including Commandaria, zivania, soutzoukos, and palouzes. Giolou is one of the wine-producing villages of the Pafos district, while Salamiou, set at around 2,130 feet above sea level, is surrounded by vineyards and almond trees.

Festival highlights include demonstrations of soumada, a refreshing almond cordial, and amigdaloto, a traditional almond dessert, as well as presentations on local crafts and heritage professions. Visitors can also enjoy tastings of soumada, amigdaloto, local wine, and zivania.

With fragrant blossoms, warm hospitality, scenic landscapes, and authentic village traditions, the Almond Tree Blossom Festivals offer a memorable way to experience rural Cyprus in bloom.
