Explore Slovenia's outdoors, in your own way
If you seek that perfect, safe, green oasis to unplug from your phone, information overload and floods of e-mails, you’re headed the right way. Come to Slovenia, the green heart of Europe, to find many great ways to unplug and chill out.
The following two Slovenia Unique Experiences will help you escape your hustle and bustle: The first is about connecting with nature, and the second is more about testing your limits – and enjoying great food. Read on!
1. Forest Melody
Forest Melody is a unique forest adventure that reveals the melodiousness of trees. Yes, you read it correctly. The forest creates a type of melody: how trees talk to one another. Only certain people can coax sounds from the trees, but now you can do this on a very intimate guided forest tour. You’ll get to know the woods in a new way, reconnect with nature, and simultaneously find your balance and relax. A forest bath and meditation will make you realize how very alive, sonorous, and fragile the forest is – you must learn how to listen to it.
This experience takes place in an exclusive, private micro-location in the middle of the forest in Bohinj, one of the most sustainable areas in Slovenia. You’ll discover the resonance of individual trees and listen to them create a harmonious forest melody. You’ll also have a chance to learn about disappearing handicraft skills, a bonus story of Bohinj’s living cultural heritage. You get to enjoy a forest tea party, rest in hammocks, take a sound bath, and try natural foot reflexology by walking barefoot through the forest.
Forest Melody is available year-round, with prices starting at 69 EUR per person for groups of more than 6 people. Find out more about hearing the Forest Melody.
2. A Vertical Adrenalin Adventure
Adventure to the Krn mountains to have an experience as an alpine climber. You will abseil down a vertical wall onto a suspended alpine platform, where you can marvel at the magnificent views while enjoying gourmet delicacies.
At dawn or dusk, you’ll put your courage to the test and, under the guidance of experienced mountain guides, abseil down the overhanging wall of Debelo Čelo. Sitting on a hanging platform invented by climbers in Yosemite Park, you can admire the magical play of light on the majestic wall of Krn towering over the town of Kobarid, a charming town set in the breathtakingly beautiful Soča Valley.
Surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains and the Nadiža River, you’ll be served breakfast or dinner with the best local delicacies. When you return to the valley, you will have another adrenaline-filled experience: water trekking in the Nadiža gorge. After your inner adrenaline junkie is satisfied, you will be treated to a culinary surprise under the trees on the riverbank.
This unique experience is available from April to October and takes about five to six hours. Prices start at 549 EUR for two people. Learn more about your Vertical Adventure and book some adrenaline!
