This eight-stage journey encompasses Switzerland’s most scenic routes, providing opportunities to visit both famous landmarks and hidden treasures. Whether taken by van, motorhome, or caravan, this tour ensures a comprehensive exploration of Switzerland’s natural beauty.

The TCS Camping Grand Tour of Switzerland detailed itinerary

Stage 1: Neuchâtel–Bern

Begin in Neuchâtel, making stops at Murten, Fribourg, Gruyère before reaching Gstaad and Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland. Highlights include the Laténium MuseumGruyère cheese factory, and Tropenhaus Frutigen, concluding in Bern, the Swiss capital.

Stage 2: Bern–Lucerne

Travel from Bern through its UNESCO World Heritage Old City and the Entlebuch Biosphere, with stops in Emmental and Sempach, ending in Lucerne. Discover Burgdorf Castle and the Kambly biscuit factory enroute.
TCS Camping Sites: Sempach, Luzern-Horw.

Stage 3: Lucerne–Zurich

Journey from Lucerne to Zurich, passing through Stans, Mythen, and Rapperswil. Options include riding the Cabrio cable car to Stanserhorn, visiting the Rigi, or exploring Einsiedeln Monastery.

Stage 4: Zurich–Maienfeld

Explore northeastern Switzerland with stops at the Rhine Falls, UNESCO-listed St. Gallen Abbey, and Maienfeld, Heidi’s village. Visit Werdenberg, Europe’s smallest town, and make a detour to Vaduz, Liechtenstein’s capital.

Stage 5: Maienfeld–Locarno

Travel through Graubünden, experiencing the Vereina Tunnel, Guarda, Upper Engadine, St. Moritz, and the Julier Pass, concluding in Locarno on Lake Maggiore’s shores.

Stage 6: Locarno–Zermatt

Have an alpine adventure crossing the Gotthard and Furka Passes, visiting the Rhone Glacier Ice Grotto and stopping in Zermatt, home of the Matterhorn.

Stage 7: Zermatt–Lac de Joux

Travel from the Valais Alps through Leuk, seeing the castles of Sion and the Lavaux vineyards, and ending at the tranquil Lac de Joux in the Jura.

Stage 8: Lac de Joux–Geneva

Conclude the tour going from Lac de Joux to Geneva, visiting the Vallorbe caves, Creux du Van, and concluding at Geneva with its iconic Jet d’Eau.
