Romance, a sense of wellbeing, and Michelin dining

If you’re wondering where to go for Valentine’s Day, Czechia offers a rare combination of top-class gastronomy, historic beauty, nature, and places with a unique atmosphere — perfect for moments that belong just to the two of you.

Romance in historic surroundings

Winding streets, often blanketed in snow, architecture steeped in history, cozy cafés —  does that kind of romance tempt you? Historic Czech cities are ideal for these! Valentine’s Day in Prague is unforgettable, but you can experience a romantic atmosphere outside of Prague or Brno. Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora, Telč, Litomyšl or Olomouc are all well worth a visit. Not sure where to go? Take a look at a selection of the most romantic places. You’re sure to find several that will interest you.

Tip: Botanical gardens also offer a unique opportunity for romantic moments: in Prague, in Teplice in North Bohemia, or in the castle garden in Kroměříž.

If you enjoy grand stories, castles and chateaux in Czechia — many of them open even during the winter — are a wonderful way to spend loving moments together. Walking through glittering halls and cozy corners creates a romantic, yesteryear atmosphere.

MICHELIN: love on a plate

Prague is firmly marked on the UNESCO map as well as on the map of top-tier gastronomy, and not only thanks to restaurants awarded by the MICHELIN Guide. In 2025, MICHELIN also selected many establishments across the Czech Republic, from youthful Brno through Baťa’s Zlín to beautiful Olomouc. Fine dining there is not just about food, but about emotions and a shared experience.

Alongside restaurants, hotels awarded MICHELIN Keys also draw attention. In Prague and other Czech cities, you’ll find accommodation for all types of guests, whether with wellness facilities or breathtaking views of Prague Castle. For couples seeking a calmer atmosphere, smaller boutique hotels away from the main tourist routes are ideal, such as Hotel Perk in Šumperk, spa hotels in Karlovy Vary, or Chateau Mcely in Central Bohemia.

Magical places

Czechia also surprises visitors with unexpected experiences. The Baroque Kuks complex with its open-air sculpture gallery feels truly magical in the winter. You can also take a stroll around the wine town of Mikulov in South Moravia, where you can enjoy breathtaking views from Svatý kopeček. The Adršpach-Teplice Rocks are perfect for couples who want to experience romance set against the backdrop of wild nature. Czech Paradise is also well worth a visit, a natural and cultural jewel with postcard-perfect towns.

Together in the mountains

If you long for a truly fairy-tale atmosphere, head to the Czech mountains. A winter hike through a snow-covered landscape, the silence, and views of white ridgelines create the perfect setting for moments spent together. After returning, hot tea, a crackling fireplace and a cozy mountain chalet or a design hotel with wellness welcome you. If you prefer a livelier atmosphere, Špindlerův Mlýn offers plenty of evening entertainment.
