Experience Chopin in Warsaw
Come to Warsaw for the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition, organized by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. This popular event is the most important music event in Poland and one of the most important music competitions worldwide. In addition to the huge role it has played in popularizing the music of Fryderyk Chopin for almost 100 years, the competition discovers the greatest piano talents, ensuring young musicians an excellent start to their international career. It is also a source of multicultural exchange, which the world sees in the diverse interpretations of the genius composer’s music.
The Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition will take place at the beautiful Warsaw National Philharmonic. As always, the Competition’s jury will include outstanding Chopinists: former winners of the Competition, tutors, and experts on the life and work of Fryderyk Chopin. The Chopin Competition has always stood out from other similar events, not least through its monographic nature – during the Competition, pianists perform works exclusively by one composer. This feature of the Competition has remained unchanged from the very beginning.
Warsaw is alive with the music of Chopin all year round. The season of Chopin Concerts in Royal Łazienki Park – recitals by the most outstanding Polish and international pianists – usually lasts from mid-May until the end of September. Come to Warsaw to listen to these concerts free of charge in the beautiful Royal Gardens. In addition to open-air performances, the capital also offers a wide selection of concerts in charming halls. Take a look at the Fryderyk Chopin Museum’s offers and those of numerous private institutions such as Chopin Point, Best Chopin Concerts, Time for Chopin, or Chopin Salon, and choose something special for yourself!
