The Elbe Route, cycle routes along the Ohře River, along the Vltava River in the capital city of Prague, affording fascinating views of Prague Castle , the Zoo or the National Theatre , and along the Bečva River are all very popular. One of the routes will lead you on your bike into the wine-making region.
Eurovelo & Greenways
Czechia boasts 17 international long-distance cycle routes totaling over 90,000 km. Four EuroVelo cycle routes (4, 7, 9, and 13) intersect Czechia, leading you to attractive places, including monuments of worldwide renown. Don’t miss EuroVelo 13 – the Iron Curtain Route, which follows the former Iron Curtain through Czech, Bavarian, and Austrian territory, as well as Eurovelo 9 – the Amber Route in Moravia, tracing from the Baltic to the Adriatic Sea, an ancient route for transporting rare amber.
In Czechia, enjoy regions near the Moravian Jeseník Mountains, and the route through the Moravian Karst with the deepest gorge in Central Europe, Macocha Cave, is a unique experience. The romantic Mikulov surrounded by vineyards and the Lednice-Valtice Chateau Complex, one of the treasures of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, are both magnificent.
Greenway Prague – Vienna and the main Greenway Jizera cycle route, leading through the Jizera Mountains , along the Jizera River, through the majestic Krkonoše Mountains, the Bohemian Paradise, and the Elbe Region are the best of the so-called green routes.

Czechia offers diverse terrains for MTB, from clean forests to steep mountain slopes. Networks of singletracks entice both beginners and experienced bikers to explore the wild beauty of the Czech countryside. For instance, more than 40 km of unique natural trails of varying difficulty can be found near the town of Trutnov.
A romantic experience on the ferry
Combine cycle tourism with environmentally friendly public transport. Most long-distance cycle routes in Czechia are well-connected to the railway, allowing bike transportation. Special cycle buses are also available. Ferries or sightseeing boats are suitable supplementary transportation, with several regular river boat lines offering bike transportation on the Elbe.
