Discover the best Czech campsites and glampsites

In a tree, in the mountains, or by the water, Czechia is a great place for nature lovers,  caravanning, and camping, whether you prefer a traditional night in a tent, a comfortable caravan or luxury glamping.

Glamping paradises

Let’s start with the popular glamping. You can try the stylish Teepee in Posázaví or yurts on a private meadow between Karlovy Vary and Plzeň, with famous spa towns within easy reach. Below Ještěd near Liberec are accommodations in tree houses, while for another interesting experience, try staying in luxury tents at the Dvůr Králové Zoo above the African animals’ enclosure. Water lovers are sure to appreciate the little houses floating on the pond in Čejkovice near České Budějovice.

Caravanning in Czechia

You can also discover the beauty of Czechia from the comfort of a caravan. Visiting the Purkmistr camper park in Plzeň offers excellent access to the city center as well as the chance to enjoy a beer spa and a tour of the Plzeňský Prazdroj BreweryStellplatz Kvilda, in the heart of Šumava, is perfect for nature lovers, while at Caravanparking Adršpach in East Bohemia you’ll find yourself close to the photogenic Adršpach Rocks. In Czechia’s east, the U Kateřiny campsite near picturesque Štramberk has new pitches. For contrast, try the industrial ambience of Stellplatz Landek Park.

Ever parked in a wine stellplatz? Close by the Annovino winery in Lednice you can stay near the Lednice–Valtice Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful places in the country — and don’t forget about the caravan site in Český Krumlov.

A classic tent sleepover

You can legally sleep in a tent in Prague on Císařská louka, on one of the islands just a short walk from the city’s most famous historical sights. However, the most interesting campsites are outside the big cities. Sedmihorky car camp, in the heart of the Bohemian Paradise, is highly rated. Budišov nad Budišovkou car camp is a cozy spot to stay. Take a look at the amazing technical heritage sites of the Techno Trail. Sykovec car camp in Vysočina is a biker’s paradise, with kilometers of quiet roads winding through a picturesque countryside. Visit the pilgrimage church on Zelená hora, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Families with children are sure to enjoy Camping Rožnov, in the heart of the hilly Beskid Mountains. The nearby open-air museum is also worth a visit.

To the water!

Would you like to sleep in a tent by large bodies of water? Merkur car camp in Pasohlávky is located on the banks of the Novomlýnské Reservoirs in South Moravia. Camp in tents, caravans or snuggle up in a comfortable bungalow. One of the most beautiful campsites in South Bohemia lies on the banks of the Vranov Reservoir. Spend the night under the stars in the campsite by Velké Dářko pond, sometimes known as “the sea of Vysočina”. Modern campsites have also been built around the huge Lipno Reservoir, one of the glittering beauties of green Šumava.
