Via Transilvanica
Via Transilvanica is the most famous long-distance hiking route in Romania. Called “the road that unites”, it crosses the country diagonally from Putna in the northeast to Drobeta Turnu Severin in the southwest, extending 1,400 kilometers. It offers travelers a unique opportunity to meet local people, discover extraordinary places, and engage with rich local heritage and history. In 2023 it received the European Heritage Awards and Europa Nostra Awards for Citizens Engagement and Awareness Raising as well as the Public Choice Award.

Via Mariae is a pilgrimage route in Central Europe that connects places related to the worship of St. Mary. In 2023 the segment from Suceava County received second prize in the category Spiritual, Religious and Pilgrimage Tourism category within the ECTN (European Cultural Tourism Network) Award — Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism.

Via Danubiana
Via Danubiana is an ecotourist route that follows the Danube on the Romanian side, offering amazing views and cultural experiences throughout Danube communities. It starts in Baziaș and ends in Sulina, passing through 12 counties, and has four main parts: the mountain segment (Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj counties); the plain segment (Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Călărași counties); the Dobrogea segment (Ialomița, Constanța, Brăila, Galați counties); the Danube Delta; and kilometer zero of the Danube (Tulcea County).
