The Albsteig Trail, the oldest hiking route in the Swabian Jura, leads along narrow paths through stunning landscapes. It’s a challenging route that can be completed in 15 stages for athletic hikers or 25 at a more relaxed pace. Highlights include views of Hohenzollern Castle, the Urach Waterfall near Bad Urach, and numerous other castles, caves, and rock formations. Cycling with electric power — discovery tours in Germany

From rivers and forests to cultural gems, Germany’s e-bike routes offer relaxed discovery for all levels of ability. 

Cycle 58 km along the Moselle and Saar past vineyards and Roman sites, or explore 150 km through the Northern Black Forest with moors, valleys, and abbeys, made easy with e-power. 

The 65-km Prima Climate Tour from Tübingen showcases renewable energy highlights, ending in charming Rottenburg. At Lake Chiemsee, enjoy a 58-km loop or hop on the bike-friendly bus. 

Ride along the Rhine past UNESCO landscapes to the Loreley, or take on part of the 600-km Danube Cycle Path, with its great infrastructure and flexible day trips. 

In the Lusatian Lake District, themed trails mix nature, lakes, and industrial history  ideal for refreshing summer rides.

Hiking Germany’s Castle Paths

Germany’s castles lie in nature parks, biosphere reserves, and vineyards perfect for hikes full of history and scenery. 

The 200-km RheinBurgenWeg follows the Middle Rhine from the romantic Rolandsbogen to the Mouse Tower in Bingen, passing by more than 20 castles and ruins with panoramic river views.

The 128-km Werra-Burgen-Steig in Hesse takes you back to the Middle Ages, with views of Berlepsch Castle, overnight stays at Ludwigstein Castle, and medieval festivals at Tannenburg. 

On the 12-km ParadiesTour Albeck near Sulz am Neckar, hike through redwood forests and Roman ruins to what remains of Albeck Castle, once home to legendary robber knights.

Hiking routes are especially eco-friendly because they promote low-impact travel, support local communities, and help preserve natural landscapes through sustainable tourism.
