Wandering through Belgium
Belgium is known as the land of castles and gardens, with more per square mile than anywhere else in the world. And this summer, the Grand Place in Brussels will become a large flower carpet of begonias August 13-15. While in Brussels, it’s worth visiting the stunning garden of the Van Buuren Museum after an afternoon browsing the collection of art work. Beyond Brussels is French-speaking Belgium, where travelers can visit the Annevoie Castle and Garden, a living work of art designed in the mid-1700’s, or the Topiary Gardens in Durbuy, home to a unique collection of sculpted box trees and over 250 figures, some over 120 years old.
